The Massachusetts Nonprofit Network will hold its first annual conference Friday October 24 at Bentley College in Waltham.
From the conference website: "Strengthening Nonprofits in an Age of Precious Resources will bring together nonprofit organizations as well as consultants and foundations to bolster their knowledge of effective practices thus strengthening their ability to carry out their mission and work. In spite of the fact that at times funding can be limited, the great demands of the nonprofit world continue to mount. Using a very creative approach, MassNonprofitNet seeks to develop a strong voice for the sector in the area of advocacy, while connecting nonprofits in Massachusetts with available resources and each other. This year, we anticipate nearly 400 people to attend and take part in this exciting opportunity."
The conference promises to be a lively and useful one. If you haven't registered yet, walk-in registration is still possible at http://www.massnonprofitnet.org/.
Steve Backman of Database Designs will participate by offering a new workshop, "Data-Driven Advocacy in Today's Policy-Making World." Steve collaborated with Heidi Hall, Director of the Boston Youth Services Network. The workshp will draw on BYSN's experience in developing an advocacy agenda reflecting youth services provided by its member agencies. If you can't make it and would like a copy of the slides, please let us know.
