Mouse goes on strike in Word Documents

Last night I was as usual rushing to meet a deadline. I opened a document created previously, and then saved it with a new name, to use as a template. I also still have more trouble finding familiar functions than I do finding my keys in the morning (often no small challenge). Word, Excel and Powerpoint have nudged over into the net gain column; Access still not fun.
